FIRE SCRIPTURE – James 3:15-17

  1. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
  2. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
  3. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

MEMORY VERSE – Ecclesiastes 7:12

For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY

The Lord shall fill you with heavenly wisdom, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday 28th April 2025.

Why must we walk in wisdom? It is of utmost importance that we walk in wisdom because wisdom is a defence and it preserves the lives of those who have it (Ecclesiastes 7:12). What is wisdom? The dictionary defines wisdom as good sense and judgment. Therefore, wisdom is more than intelligence, knowledge, or even understanding. We can say that wisdom is the ability to apply these three things to think and act so that our choices are beneficial and productive.

The crux of the matter is how one can develop this ability to apply these three things. A deep consideration of this definition makes it clear that wisdom is more spiritual than physical because no textbook teaches you wisdom but the Book of all books, the Bible, which answers all our questions. So, in the book of James 3:15-17, we see two major types of wisdom: earthly or worldly wisdom (which is intellectual and devilish) and wisdom from above (which is heavenly). However, you have to choose to walk in either of the two. It is either you are walking in worldly wisdom or in heavenly wisdom. You need to make a choice.

May I remind you that neutrality does not work because neutrality in the things of the spirit can be dangerous. But in making your choice, remember that worldly wisdom is sensual and devilish while the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. This should guide you in making your choice. So, if you sincerely wish to follow after godliness, you will walk in the wisdom from above. Resist the temptation to walk in earthly wisdom so you can please God and not end up in damnation.
