DEEPER LIFE DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

Daily Manna by Pastor Kumuyi is a daily devotional sets out to provide spiritual nourishment for the believers who truly seek God and would walk closely with Him.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2024

TOPIC: EACH ONE, REACH ONE

KEY VERSE: “He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ” (JOHN 1:41).

JOHN 1:40-51

In many assemblies, the laity has abandoned the preaching of the gospel to the clergy. In 2008, Dag Heward-Mills noted that 94 percent of all the pastors preach to nine percent of the world’s harvest and only six percent of the pastors preach to 91 percent of the word’s harvest. The question Oswald J. Smith asked several decades ago thus becomes pertinent: “We talk of the second coming when half of the world has never heard of the first coming.”  The current world population is estimated at eight billion out of which only 2.6 billion, representing one third, claim to be Christians.

From our text, Andrew was one of Christ’s earliest converts. He went after his brother and won him for Christ. Phillip brought Nathaniel. Thus, the exponential multiplication began until multitudes were now converted. As Christ noted, more than 2,000 years ago, “the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.”

The best approach to reach the unreached is to embrace the DAWN AGENDA: Discipling A Whole Nation or Doubling A Written Number founded on Operation Andrew that is highlighted in our text. John the Baptist pointed Christ to Andrew who brought Simon Peter.

A soul-winner must be genuinely converted, know the Scripture and have Christlike compassion for the lost. He must also be persistent because not everyone would embrace Christ at the first invitation. Let us also learn from the approach of Christ to soul-winning. The call of the disciples, the discussion with Nicodemus and the conversion of the Samaritan woman were outcomes of Christ’s personal efforts. We should, therefore, look for every opportunity to win souls.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Soul-winners win with a sense of urgency and persistence.

GOD MADE ME

KEY VERSE: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." (JEREMIAH 1:5)

BIBLE TEXT: JEREMIAH 1:4-8

“I know that God made me and I believe He created me for a purpose. Lord, I want You to use me for Your glory and help me to be all You created me to be.” These were the thoughts and prayer of Franklin when he was thinking on today's key verse during his devotion time. Just like pens were made to write and clothes made to cover our nakedness, so also, God has made you to bring glory to Him. For God's purpose and plans to be fulfilled in your life, you must totally surrender to God. Surrendering to God begins when a child repents of all sins, forsakes them and accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour. After repentance, you must live a life of obedience and daily surrender to His will in all things.

Franklin's prayer should be the prayer of every friend of Jesus. No one rejects God and becomes all he or she is created to be. Do you want God's glory to be seen in you? Do you want to be the best that God has created you for? Surrender your all to Him and see what God would make of you, just like He did with Joseph, Daniel, Ruth and many more.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I surrender my heart and my all to You. Help me to be all You have created me to be.
