TOPIC: GREATER FAITH AND HIGHER FAITHFULNESS FOR WIDER FRUITFULNESS.
TEXT: MATTHEW 8:8-10; DANIEL 6:3-4; 1 CORINTHIANS 15:10.
This session today is one message with three parts.
I. Faith.
II. Faithfulness.
III. Fruitfulness.
You can not separate, and what God has joined together, let no man separate. Faith and faithfulness come together. As you look at Abraham, he had faith in God. He had faithfulness to God. And as you bring faith and faithfulness together, the coming together of faith and faithfulness will never be barren. Faith joined with faithfulness and always bear fruit. As we begin our Christian life, we have in God, like human beings, grows, faith grows. As faith grows, faithfulness grows, and as faith and faithfulness grow, the fruitfulness also will grow. Now we bring the three together, "GREATER FAITH AND HIGHER FAITHFULNESS FOR WIDER FRUITFULNESS". One does not leave the other behind, and you can not say you go for one, as your left and right hand move in cooperation when you're working, faith and faithfulness work together in cooperation. Faith and faithfulness will always bear fruit, and as you grow in faith and you grow in faithfulness, you're going to have greater growing faithfulness.
POINT 1. GREAT FAITH GROWING GREATER FOR GREATER FULLNESS.
MATTHEW 8:8-10.
Faith is like food. If we study food and we don't eat it, it benefits us not. If we analyze milk without drinking it, it doesn't profit us. Faith feeds us, faith grows us, faith quickens our lives, faith makes us grow, faith makes us courageous, faith makes us to have the blessings of heaven, faith does for us what no other quality of life can do for us, faith associates us with God, faith makes us to reach the bank of heaven, and to be able to have the resources of heaven. There's natural faith, there's supernatural faith, there's normal faith, there's super-human faith, there's personal faith, there's prophetic faith, there's powerful faith, there's productive faith. As you look at the faith, and you walk with God by faith, you have great faith and is always growing and growing, faith comes by the word of God, and faith grows by the word of God, faith comes by communion with God, faith grows by consecration to God. We are picking up Abraham, and we are looking at the faith of Abraham.
I. Abraham's go-out" Faith for Divine Favour.
Hebrews 11 :8; Isaiah 52:11; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Revelation 18:4.
When God called Abraham to go out, by faith he went out, look at the children of Israel at the red sea, you see in front of them the mountains and the Egyptians armies at the back, and when faith looks to the side, looks to the front and there's no way, there's only one way, "look up". When you cannot move forward, when you cannot look back, when you cannot look to the side, the sky is open, there's go up faith, there's go out, go forward, go further faith. When you are stopped in your movement forward and in your ministry, and you're still at the red sea, and by going forward you cross the red sea, your final destination is not on the other side of red sea, is the Canaan the promised land. And the only way you can get to the land of promise is go further, wherever you have reached today, go further, whatever you've got today, go further, and it's that go out faith that made Abraham a different person, a different friend of the Almighty God. Abraham didn't know where he was going when the commandment came to go up, but God knows and that is enough for him, God has been there before, he didn't know what he was going to get when he get there, but God knows everything, it's a land flowing with milk and honey, when God says go ye into the world and preach the gospel, have you been there before? No, God has been there. That's good enough for you. Go preach the gospel to every creature. You don't even know whether they will get angry, but God knows, that's good enough for you. That's the go out faith because God knows that's enough for you, because God has given the directive, that's good enough for you, the Lord will send you to many people, He sent Moses to Pharaoh like He sent Elijah to Ahab, like He sent John the Baptist to those Pharisees, go, like Jesus sent His disciples to Jerusalem, to Samaria and to the uttermost part of the earth, you don't know them, He knows them, that's enough for you, go.
II. Abraham's great faith for desired fruit.
Romans 4:17-21; James 2:17,20,26; Hebrews 11:24-27; 1 Peter 1:8-9.
Remember, Abraham is just like you, and I have the same passion, having the same life. He didn't even have the Bible written yet, but he had faith in God. And we are the sons and daughters of Abraham, Abraham needed fruit, not an ordinary fruit. It's the fruit God will give us, and in our language, it is called laughter. In every language, it's called Isaac, it's called joy, and by Faith Abraham bear that fruit. In our lives, we want laughter and it's not just for ourselves, we want to bring fruit back home that our parents will have to laugh and that our village and town will laugh, you want to bring the fruit of faith back home that your people will see and say you're the best in their time. That was the great faith of Abraham. There are many people in time of Abraham that lived, and nothing is written about them. If we go through life without faith, nothing will be written about us. You can do everything you want to do, you can study everything you want to study, you can travel anywhere you want to travel, if you go to the journey of life without great faith of Abraham, there's nothing written concerning you in eternity. The heavenly God made Abraham the father of all nations, there's a different personality called Lucifer, devil, Satan, adversary, he doesn't want you great, he doesn't want you high, he doesn't want you happy, but what can he do when God said He has made you. Satan is helpless. The demons are helpless because God said to Abraham, "I made you a father of the whole nation." At this time, the body of Abraham is dead. As we are getting older, there are exceptions. As Noah advances in age, God told him to build an ark, and normal people of Noah's age don't build arks. That's an exception. Moses was an exception, at 80, the Lord called him to do a particular work, and the work is taking a nation out of another nation, it doesn't happen normally, naturally that way, when God lays His hand on you, you don't go back to history book and find out has it happened to anyone before! If God want to use you for the incredible and what you don't find in history book, that's what He does, there are people He has special, significant, incredible things with, and if you are one, praise the Lord, by faith you will jump up and say, it will happen, even God who quickens the dead and He called those things which being not as though they were will quicken your mortal body. When you live and you dwell in the dungeon of hopelessness and faith confronts you and strikes you on the face, that faith in the dungeon of hopelessness will transport you to the peak of hopefulness. Our FAITH has to be growing to have that experience. Without faith, you will remain as you are always been. Faith will make you become. Faith is what makes you have that new life of becoming. Weakness affects different part of our lives, sometimes your hands are weak, you cannot hold, your mind is weak and any little information disturbs you, but if your faith is strong, the faith that is strong will affects the weak parts of your body, make sure your faith is a growing faith, and once that is settled, every other areas of your life that appear weak will be resurrected and made alive. When you have faith, there are things you don't consider, faith doesn't consider bad news, faith doesn't consider the secret agenda of people, faith doesn't consider negative information, faith doesn't consider what we hear, what we feel, what we see, it only consider what heaven has spoken. Abraham didn't consider the deadness of Sarah's womb at 100 years. Biology tells us there's no way it can happen. Science says forget about that, but Abraham didn't consider what he saw, what he felt because he had great faith in God. Abraham was strong in faith. The world in which we live, the young want to be strong in the body and the world exalts that, they do everything they can do so that their body will be strong, by the way, all the exercise of the world will not make their bodies strong at 100. The cells of the brain are dying up at that age, the functions of the body at that age is already going and collapsing, and the old age diseases takes effect and take root in the body, but when you have strong faith rather than strong body, the strong faith do what the strong body cannot do and you will get to where God has destined you will get to. Laugher is coming on your way, whatever the promise God had given you, and the physical signs are showing that the promise will not come because you're getting older, rejoice, give glory to God everyday because your joy, your Isaac, your laughter is on the way, don't give up because your laughter is coming on the way.
III. Abraham's greater faith for his decreed future.
Hebrews 11:15-17; 13:12-14; Ruth 1:15-18; John 6:67-71.
Abraham did what God bids him to do, and he manifested great faith, now the greater faith that makes him have the decreed future, his testimony came in the name of a test, his triumph came in the form of a trial, when you read with a natural eyes, that thing is a test, that thing is a trial. When you read with the eyes of faith, that same thing is a testimony, is a triumph. God called Abraham to offer Isaac, and the majority of the people in the world will hear that as a great temptation, only in the word we see it as something that will bring greater testimony in your life. When God spoke to Abraham, he didn't tell anybody because God spoke to him personally, and then he went, there's a kind of consecration and absolute surrender Abraham cannot share or discuss with his servants, there's an intimate walk with God we cannot debate with another person. We shouldn't forget the sacrifice we are going to offer unto God. Here is what serving God has led Abraham to, Abraham did not cry, he didn't change his appearance, and right there, he became a prophet. He had the gift of the Spirit. Walking by faith and not by sight, no palpitation in his heart, no trembling and no anxiety, no shaking, there was no fear, he laid the wood, he took Isaac, Issac could have query his father for doing that but he didn't ask any questions. Faith in Abraham, faith in Issac are going together. Faith in the minister, faith in the member united together. Faith in the pastor and faith in the people uniting together, all things are possible. Abraham had not seen the lamb, but the word of prophecy will come to performance, whatever Abraham is doing, he always had a listening ear, and then God told him not to do anything with the child, and God sent a ram and he sacrifice the lamb because he believed. All you need in your life is that kind of greater faith. Every promise in the book that was given to you will be fulfilled. Tonight, I welcome you to a higher level of faith. You will see marvellous manifestation of God and miracle working power you've never seen before
POINT 2. DEEP FAITHFULNESS GOING DEEPER FOR DEEPER FULFILMENT.
We should have deep faithfulness going deeper so that we can have deeper fulfilment.
I. Good abiding faithfulness for divine friendship.
Nehemiah 9:8; Isaiah 41:8; Genesis 18:17-19; John 15:14-16.
The persecution you bored many years ago, can you still bear it today? Good abiding faithfulness should go deeper so you will have more friendship with the Lord. There are angels in heaven, we have few chief angels, we have angel Gabriel, we have angel Michael, Lucifer actually was also one of them chief angel, we can see different there, Michael finish with EL, Gabriel also finish with EL, EL is the Name of of God. But Lucifer, no EL in his name. God knew that he would go astray. The point is, God never called Gabriel His friend, and God never called Michael His friend, but He called Abraham His friend. See what faithfulness to God can do, that the name, the title God refused to give angels, He gave Abraham. God won't do anything except He tell His friend. The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was so much, and He wanted to destroy them, He didn't tell Angel Michael and Angel Gabriel, but He told Abraham because he's a friend of God. Check up, God will never d
discusses His plan like that with any angel. If you are faithful, you will become a friend of God. And Jesus said, ye are my friends, that's the position faithfulness brings us to with God.
II. Great absolute faithfulness for divine fellowship.
Psalm 94:20; 1 John 1:3-7; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Philippians 2:1-5.
While Abraham was in his tent, he was faithful to God. While Abraham was on the battlefield with the people that came to take Lot, he was faithful to God. Anywhere, everywhere that Abraham was, he was faithful to God. And His faithfulness was absolute faithfulness to God because of that, he had fellowship with God, he knew God was always there, he feel Him in his soul, he see Him before him, he hear His voice in his ear, they fellowship together. When you get to that level, you fellowship with the Almighty God, the threats of men and devil mean nothing! Your faithfulness to God brings you into fellowship with Him, you walk in the light, you live in the light, and your heart is set on things on high.
III. Greater ascending faithfulness for the destined future.
1 Corinthians 4:2; Psalm 101:6-7; Luke 16:10-13; Mark 24:45-47.
Think about Abraham, and think about the destined future. There are people we wonder if they get to heaven, like Solomon, Adam and Eve, Lot only when we get there we will know, there are people that spark doubt in their minds, as to whether they get to heaven or not, but Abraham, because of his faithlessness to God, and because of this ascending faithfulness to God, when Abraham left the earth and got to paradise, it remains Abraham bossom. Sometimes, here on earth, the name is city after a man's name, but to name paradise after Abraham, and they said its Abraham's bosom. Jesus accepted that because He said Lazarus died and he was taken up by Angels to Abraham's bosom, if you can be so faithful to God, you're absolutely faithful to God, you're ascendingly faithful to God, not only you have mansion in heaven, but even a part of the street is named after you for all eternity because of your faithfulness here. You will be faithful, and God will give you privileges that other people on earth have never had.
POINT 3. WIDE FIELDS GETTING WIDER FOR WIDER FRUITFULNESS.
MATTHEW 13:38-43.
Fruit is not stationary. You have faith, growing faith, you have faithfulness, growing faithfulness, and now you have greater, wider fruitfulness.
I. Wide field of ministry through His high calling.
John 4:35-38; Acts 6:2,4; 2 Corinthians 6:1-4; Colossians 4:17.
The high calling we have in Christ, and that high calling will demand high consecration, He has called us, we hear His voice and we don't hear any contrary voice, and you maintain your high commitment and high consecration to the high calling of God in your life. You are committed and given to that, and you say every day you're thinking of fulfilling your ministry. Be focused, consecrate, yield yourself completely, don't look to the right, don't look to the left, concentrate on the ministry of which you have been called, be diligent in your calling, do not allow any opportunity or any gift of the world to distract you, to sidetracked you, take heed to the ministry which you have received from the Lord that you fulfil it, there are times you are distracted, Moses was distracted by good, good things, Egypt was there for him, that's part one. He was to take Israel to the promised land. That's part two. The calling is to take them out, and the calling is to take all of them in. Moses was distracted, no water to drink, and he struck the rock twice. He did not take heed to the calling to the ministry. He fulfilled part one, he took Israel out, he didn't take Israel in, there were miracle God used him to wrought, but he didn't take them in. Of the six thousand men that left Egypt, only Caleb and Joshua went into the land of Canaan. Aaron and all that lifted up his hands and himself, they came out, they didn't go in. Take heed to the ministry which you have received from the Lord, that you fulfil it, be always watchful, and don't allow the success that you have recorded to deceive you. One day at a time, you're moving on.
II. Wider fields for ministers of higher consecration.
Acts 9:15-16; 26:16-19; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; 1 Corinthians 16:15.
Those who say they have done enough and that they don't need more consecration, they say they have evangelized enough, and they say they've done everything they can do, their consecration hit the ceiling. Today, consecrate something you didn't consecrate yesterday, tomorrow, give something into the ministry that you didn't give today. Read the Bible like you never read it before, study God's calling like you never study His calling before. Let the Love of God in you be deeper than it was yesterday. Let's discuss the things of heaven and the things of glory being more than you did before. Today, seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness above and beyond what you did before, have a higher consecration and greater consecration so that you can have wider fields of ministry and success in your life.
III. Weightier foremost matter with Heavenly confirmation.
Matthew 23:23; Mark 16:15-20; Hebrews 2:1-4; Revelation 20:15.
Consecrate and offer your toil for the service of the Lord. Today, after coming to the greater age of the Christian height in the Christian faith, are you still offering toils to God? If you cannot give out money, time, and if you can not give out your career so that you can preach the gospel, but you can give your toils, and you're still rejoicing and testifying how far you've gone in great consecration, why don't you come back to God and see how He evaluate what you consecrate into the Kingdom. The same thing you consecrated 30 years ago, are they not toils? You attend Christian conferences, is that something new or like you attended many years ago. God will help us that we will see what He need in our lives, what we are able to offer to the Lord will reach millions of people today, and you will bear fruit, fruit on earth, fruit for heaven, fruit for God, fruit for heaven, the Angels will literary be carrying you in the air, everywhere you go, there will be special protection for your life, you will be a friend of God, you will be a favourite of God, faith, faithfulness, fruitfulness, may God bring you into the depth and into the ocean of the love of God, even from today IN Jesus Name. Greater than yesterday, higher and farer than yesterday, the go out faith, the go up faith, the go forward faith, the go further faith, and from there, you will be climbing and climbing, you will never come down. For everyone, the Lord, confirm it in your life.
