MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 5TH AUGUST 2023
One
of the reasons some people get married to wrong spouses and face challenges in
their marriages is that they fail to discover and allow their divine purpose to
guide them on who to marry. If you are still single, you should avoid this
error. If you are a parent, you should teach your children and wards to
discover their purpose in life and let it guide their choice of the spouse to
marry. They should avoid the pain of putting the cart before the horse.
Today’s
memory verse says, “And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged
Israel at that time.”We can see that Deborah was first a prophetess before the
mention that she was the wife of Lapidoth. This implies that she had found out
who she really was, what her God-given assignment was, why she was born and her
life’s purpose before seeking to get married. Finding a partner before finding
out life’s purpose always produces disastrous consequences.
Imagine if Deborah had married just any man, especially in the
patriarchal society in which she found herself, she would not have fulfilled
her calling because not all men, no matter how holy can be so secure around a
woman like Deborah. Some Christian men would never support the dreams of a
leading woman. It takes only a Lapidoth to marry a Deborah.
In
an age when women were meant only to be seen and not heard, it takes the voice
and support of Lapidoth to silence detractors and critics around his wife. He
knew her visions well ahead of marriage and so, stood by her, gave her a right
hand of fellowship and gave her room to thrive in ministry.
A
lot of people have died untimely and so many visions have been killed or
silenced by so-called spouses because they did not marry in line with their
divine purposes. For instance, a medical doctor that just discovers after
marriage that God wants him to be an itinerant evangelist might not find things
easy with his wife because that was not discussed and agreed upon before
marriage.
What
she saw in the man she married was a medical doctor and a medical doctor was who
she wanted to be married to all her life. It will take God and extra work to
make her support his new- found vision.

POINTS 5TH AUGUST 2023
MORNING
1. O God, arise and show me my divine purpose, in the name of Jesus.
2. I shall not mismarry, in the name of Jesus.
3. I shall not marry my enemy, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Favour of God to find my divinely-ordained partner, overshadow me, in the
name of Jesus.
5. My marriage will not kill my calling and my calling will not kill my
marriage, in the name of Jesus.
6. Evil aura, attracting wrong partners to me, expire, in the name of Jesus.
7. I shall fulfil my calling and I shall marry right, in the name of Jesus.
